About MessySpoon
An artisan bakery unlike any other
Established in 2019, MessySpoon is an artisan bakery that lovingly crafts gluten free and vegan friendly wholefoods for Sydneysiders, which shine a spotlight on the highest quality, Australian grown wholefood ingredients.
Its mission is to bring true nourishment to customers, by developing delicious, soul quenching baked goods that are approachable and accessible to all. Think healthy food, with a unique and thoughtful twist that has everyone, from mums and their kids, to busy office and shift workers, and the elderly coming back for more.
This unique ethos is woven throughout the bakery’s sweet and savoury product range, from its nutrient dense OG, the Good Gut Loaf, to divine peanut caramel blondies, and special seasonal ranges, including for the festive season.
MessySpoon’s ‘why’
The inspiration behind MessySpoon first emerged when Founder, Lizzie Fiducia, a former chef who has worked in Michelin starred restaurants and at the Jamie Oliver Group, found that sourcing equally flavoursome and healthy foods to complement her busy lifestyle was a challenge.
So, she set out to fill this much needed gap in the market, with the aim of providing both her hospitality industry colleagues and people from all walks of life with healthy – yet equally delicious – alternatives to their classic favourites.
This saw Lizzie depart the commercial cheffing world to take on a role as recipe developer at The Australian Women’s Weekly, and she began testing and developing delicious, nutritious recipes in her downtime.
Lizzie went on to launch the business in her home kitchen in early 2019. Following growing demand for MessySpoon’s range, she shifted her side hustle into a full time operation by September of the same year, and hasn’t looked back.
Today, much to the delight of locals, its bustling bakery doors can be found in Surry Hills, and MessySpoon services a range of Sydney’s most renowned venues and grocery stores, including the Three Blue Ducks, Italian Street Kitchen, Rocker Bondi, Cali Press, Orchard St, Veneziano Coffee and The Health Emporium.
